Chef Megin Meikle made a name for herself early, excelling in culinary school and catching the attention of her instructors. She discovered a passion for competition and found she had a knack for it. Those skills transferred easily to roles at GREI, Luke Dale Roberts X Saxon, Restaurant Five Hundred, and the Pot Luck Club. Most recently, she was named Pastry Chef of the Year 2023 at the Luxe Awards. 

She has proudly represented South Africa on a global culinary stage and brings outstanding creativity and business expertise in addition to her exceptional pastry skills.

About Chocolate Academy™ South Africa

Chocolate Academy™ South Africa has grown exponentially since it opened in 2017. Then, it was helmed by a team of one: Chef Minette Smith, who has since relocated to Belgium to serve as Lead Creative Chef for Callebaut. Chef Minette grew the Academy to include two more chefs, Chantal Molnar and Alfred Nqayi. She established the Academy as a source of education and inspiration for experienced chefs and those just starting. Chef Minette handed the reins to Chef Arno Ralph just last year, and he has continued her legacy of serving clients and expanding the services of the Chocolate Academy™ Center. Today’s announcement of their first Chocolate Ambassador is a significant milestone in the Academy’s history.

About the Chocolate Ambassadors Club

The Chocolate Ambassadors Club is made up of 200 members representing over 30 countries, and it continues to grow. 

Ambassadors are world-renowned chefs selected for their expertise, passion, and commitment to their craft. Chefs like Melissa Coppel and Kirsten Tibballs, to name just two, are not only well-known, high-profile chefs; their commitment to helping their peers and educating future chefs sets the tone for all Ambassadors. A Chocolate Ambassador's mission is to inspire chefs through creativity, technical prowess, and commitment to sustainable craftsmanship. They join Chocolate Academy™ Chefs in guiding others via workshops, classes, videos, and recipes. 

The members of the Chocolate Ambassadors Club thrive to bring joy through artisanal chocolate delights all over the world, today and tomorrow.
